GForge Advanced Server Integrations
|
CVS
CVS (Concurrent Versioning System) integration includes creating a blank repository for each project that chooses to use CVS, defining and controlling who can access the repository, including directory-level access-controls, and linking commits to tracker items (defects and tasks).
Clear Case
A Rational® ClearCase® plugin is included in GForge AS, which allows you to provide instructions and a link to your ClearCase repositories. The clearcase log parser then allows you to link commits to tracker items and tasks.
Doors
A new Telelogic Doors integration lets you sync project information in both directions with GForge<->Doors.
Eclipse
The GForge Eclipse plugin lets your users add, update, and delete tracker items (defects), tasks, and time tracking information from within your eclipse environment as well as add, update, delete and add new versions of documents. For many users, this may mean that you do not have to open a web browser to manage defects.
GIT
A basic GIT plugin is included in the final 5.5 release with a full plugin available in October.
LDAP
The GForge LDAP integration lets your GForge instance authenticate new users against a central LDAP database. If the user cannot be authenticated in LDAP, they cannot access the GForge site. If they are successfully authenticated against LDAP, a new account in GForge can be automatically created and approved.
MS Office
The GForge MS Office plugin allows you to open and save documents in the document managers in your projects from within MS Office.
MS Project
The GForge MS Project plugin adds an interface to MS Project 2003 or newer so you can synchronize a subproject in GForge with an MS Project file. Tasks can be added/updated/deleted and sync'd from either the www interface or the MS Project interface.
Perforce
The 5.3 release of GForge AS includes a Perforce integration, including creating and controlling access to repositories, links to browsing, directory-level permissions, and linking commits to tracker items and tasks.
Single Sign On (SSO) - SiteMinder, Kerberos, etc
Starting with GForge 5.5, you can now be automatically logged in if you have a SSO solution in place. GForge can recognize the server variable and map it to a user record to make the login transparent. If no user matches, it can redirect to the account creation form.
SOAP
GForge AS has a large and feature-rich SOAP API. Client integrations for Eclipse and Visual Studio both rely on this SOAP API to communicate with the server.
Subversion
Subversion integration includes creating a blank repository for each project that chooses to use SVN, defining and controlling who can access the repository, including directory-level access-controls, and linking commits to tracker items (defects and tasks).
Visual Source Safe
A basic Visual Source Safe® plugin is included in GForge AS, which allows you to provide instructions and a link to your repositories.
Visual Studio
The GForge Visual Studio plugin lets your users add, update, and delete tracker items (defects) and tasks, manage your time tracking entries, and add/update/delete and add new versions of documents from within your VS environment. For many users, this may mean that you do not have to open a web browser to manage defects.
