Vmware Image
The vmware image is approximately 485MB and includes a complete installation on CentOS 5. This image can be easily run on any platform that can run recent versions of VMWare Server, Player, or Workstation.
Decompress the vmware image and choose it from your vmware server. You should allocate at least 768MB RAM to the virtual machine, boot it up and login. The README.txt contains the site admin password, and machine root password.
The change-hostname.php script allows you to re-configure the system easily for your environment.
Installer
The installer makes it easy to setup GForge AS on any cleanly-installed Fedora Core 4-7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4-5, Debian Etch, Ubuntu 6, or CentOS 4-5. SuSE 10 and Solaris 10 can also be used, although it requires more effort to configure all the required packages.
The installer uses your package management system. The first step of the installation downloads and installs all the required packages to make a complete and working GForge AS. Before choosing this option, make sure you have a clean and properly working operating system and you can automatically install packages as needed.
Translations
The free version of GForge AS includes several translations, including Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean and English. The translation files are available from the Translation Project. Create and share your translations with other people who speak your language.
Eclipse, Visual Studio, MS Project plugins and Documentation
The plugins for Eclipse, Visual Studio and MS Project are only available to our paying customers from the Online Store and will only work with the full version of GForge AS, not Community Edition.
